Monday - Just six more days to go
So here we go the final week and i have a week off work so there should be no excuses I should be able to eat, train, stretch and rest well.
I am not planning on doing much this week, I will ignore my garden which is crying out for serious attention, the grime on the top of my kitchen cupboards can wait another week and although Dan and Adele are off school they have been told there will be no ice skating, bowling or anything else that may result in some kind of injury!
So how did Monday go – well i spent the whole morning on my laptop trying to clear outstanding emails and another couple of hours finishing off work from Friday! (so much for being on holiday)
. .and somehow I managed to throw a full cup of tea over my mobile phone which is now not working.
In the afternoon Adele and I went into town, a quick half hour in to PRIMARK (my idea of hell) and i was reminded of what will be one of my biggest fears I will face this weekend! . . . Running 26.2 miles? NO -going down escalators-, I hate them, I get a knot in my tummy and feel sick and dizzy - I always think I am going to get my foot on them wrong and fall. It is an irrational fear I Know, but Ii always have to pause and sometimes can stand at the top of one walk away and return several times before I can manage to take a deep breath and actually put my foot on and get on the thing. Now in Leeds I don’t come across them often and I can avoid them though I do try and make myself face this fear, but in London on the underground . . . I am a nervous wreck!
I also discovered in Primark a new way to embarrass your daughter . . .try a cheap £3.50 large costume ring on and then not be able to get it back off! After about five minutes of desperately trying, my finger was red swelling and hurting and much to Adele's dismay I had to go ask for an assistant for help! While one assistant ran off to fetch the first aider (what are they going to do cut my finger off?) thankfully another assistant grabbed a tub of moisturising lotion and (making sure she only stuck her finger in the lotion on the underside of the lid so she could put it back on the shelve for sale!) applied lotion and after a bit more twisting and tugging i was free without having to have my finger cut off!
Then to Up and Running, running London? he asked as he zapped the big pile of gels, protein bars and new socks.
How did he guess?
So how did i get on with my goals today ....
Nutrition, well I had 3 meals, Toast for breakfast, egg and chips (Adele was having chips and i couldn't resist) pork steak, apple, veg and Moroccan couscous. Not bad for me!
Rest - apart from my trip to town i didnt do much
Stretching - em just I made a conscious effort to stretch my legs a little while i was stood at the counter the at the building society
Sleep - a good 8 hours which is very rare for me!
